Saturday School is this Saturday, February 22nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Clay Trap (Grades 6-12) - Mandatory team meeting Monday, March 2nd, 6 p.m. WITC Conference Center Room 305/6.  New and returning shooters should attend.

Digital Citizenship Event - February 25th, 5 - 6:30 p.m.:

Students, family members, and community members are welcome to join us at Washburn High School for informational booths.  Free food and no entry cost.  The event will be catered by Hugo's!

All items that have been turned in to the lost and found are now set out on a table in the LRC.  If your son/daughter is missing any items, please have them check in the LRC.  Any items left unclaimed will be donated to the ABC Thrift store.

Middle School HELP Competition:

Personal care items to be donated to the BRICK

Goal! 30 items per HELP group

If every class reaches their goal, the middle school will have a pizza party in the afternoon on Jan 23rd or 24th.

From Jan 10-Jan 21th there will be a box in your HELP groups for donations.

Ineligible items will not be counted toward the goal (a box of pencils maybe helpful to someone and may be donated, but will not be counted in this competition).

All items must be new. (No used toothbrushes etc.)

Personal Care Donations
The following are always accepted:

  • Bath soap
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Toothpaste/toothbrushes
  • Laundry soap
  • Diapers
  • Lotion
  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels

Items not on this list may count toward the goal if judged appropriate.

Clothing and Toy Drive for New Day Shelter

The National Honor Society is hosting a clothing and toy drive to benefit the New Day Shelter during the high school basketball games on December 13th and 16th.  Any person donating an item will get into the game for free.

Snowmobile Class Petition

This petition is to show the DNR that there is a need in our communities for this education.  Any student that is interested can stop in the office and sign the petition.

Open House - November 12th

The middle school staff would like to invite students and parents to an Open House on Tuesday, November 12th from 4-6 p.m.  Feel free to stop by your students' rooms and meet their teachers.

If you are interested in a more formal sit down conference, you may sign up at the Open House, have your student turn in the bottom half of the letter that was emailed out earlier this week, or call/email the teacher(s) with whom you would like to set up a November 14th conference.  If November 14th doesn't work for you, you can contact the teachers to set up an alternate date/time.  Conferences will be held from 4-6 p.m. on November 14th.


High School Basketball Hamburger Dinner Fundraiser

Saturday, November 9th from 4 - 7 p.m. in the MS/HS cafeteria.  Cost is $10 per ticket.  Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Volleyball Sectional Semifinal Ticket Pre-sale

We are pre-selling tickets for the Girls’ Volleyball Sectional Semifinal @ Mercer on Thursday, October 31st at 7:00 p.m.  If you are interested in attending this event, please purchase your tickets in advance from the MS/HS office between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Please purchase your tickets before noon on Wednesday.

Picture Re-Take Day

Picture re-take day will be Friday, October 18th.  If you did not have your picture taken on September 10th, you will need to have it taken on October 18th.  Every student is required to have their picture taken for their picture id.  If you want to have your picture re-taken, you need to have your original pictures with you on re-take day.

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

Orientation Day

Orientation Day for 7th Grade, Freshmen, new and exchange students will take place on Thursday, August 29th.  Below is the agenda for the day:

8:00 - 8:30 a.m.  All students, parents (recommended), and staff report to the gymnasium

8:30 - 8:45 a.m.  Students report to Homeroom Extended Learning Period (HELP) class to go over the schedule for the day.  Parents can receive a tour of the building.

8:45 - 11:00 a.m.  Team building activity

11:20 - 12:00 p.m.  Lunch at the school

12:05 - 12:20 p.m. Students will report to scheduled classes (modified times) starting with 1st period.

3:05 - 3:25 p.m.  All students and staff report to the cafeteria for the Activities Fair, Ice Cream and T-Shirts

First Day of School - September 3rd

The first day of school for all students is Tuesday, September 3rd.  The school day runs from 8:12 a.m. to 3:28 p.m. for all students.
